What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is the only FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat. Dr. Jonathan Freed understands that our body does not always reflect our efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle, and there is often stubborn fat that resists all efforts of diet and exercise.
CoolSculpting’s revolutionary, minimally-invasive liposuction alternative uses the basic science of cryolipolysis to freeze and dissolve unwanted fat cells that are present in your “problem” areas.
Is CoolSculpting for You?
For those who desire a slimmer, smoother body shape, CoolSculpting may help you achieve these goals without having to undergo surgery. CoolSculpting is a non-surgical method of fat reduction designed to improve targeted areas of the body for both men and women.
It is important to note that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss method, but rather a fat reduction technique. After receiving CoolSculpting, it is very important that you maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Dr. Freed and his nurses take the time to get to know you and your desired results. They are committed to helping you achieve results you will love. CoolSculpting is not for everyone. The most appropriate patients are those within 10 pounds of their ideal body weight. Contact us for more information about Dr. Freed and the procedures he offers.
Is it as effective as liposuction?
In-office CoolSculpting is a different procedure than surgical Liposuction. CoolSculpting can get a 25% reduction of fat. We have found it to be very effective for the love handles, abdomen, arms, thighs, chin and other areas, however liposuction usually has more dramatic results with a greater reduction. However, with treating the area twice this usually improves the reduction of fat cells significantly.
What do I expect during the treatment?
At the beginning of the CoolSculpting procedure, the targeted area is drawn between a cooling panel, which brings the fat to a very cold temperature. Since fat cells are destroyed at a higher temperature than other cells, surrounding tissues remains safe and is left unharmed.
A CoolSculpting procedure typically lasts 1 to 3 hours, depending on how large the area is that is being treated as well as how many areas are being treated.
During your treatment you may bring in your favorite books, magazines, music or entertainment you wish to use to occupy your time while being treated.
We recommend that you bring a light sweatshirt and socks to wear during your treatment, as you may feel a slight chill during the CoolSculpting treatment.
