What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is the only FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat. Dr. Jonathan Freed understands that our body does not always reflect our efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle, and there is often stubborn fat that resists all efforts of diet and exercise.

CoolSculpting’s revolutionary, minimally-invasive liposuction alternative uses the basic science of cryolipolysis to freeze and dissolve unwanted fat cells that are present in your “problem” areas. The dissolved fat cells are then flushed out of the body naturally through the lymphatic system.

At Vibrance Medical Spa we offer multi-machine treatments and easy financing options for the coolest, non-surgical way to reduce fat bulges. Results can be seen as early as 4 weeks with more dramatic results at 3-4 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a good candidate?

For those who desire a slimmer, smoother body shape, CoolSculpting may help you achieve these goals without having to undergo surgery. CoolSculpting is designed to improve targeted areas of the body such as double chin, upper arms, back, flanks, abdomen, thighs, and knees, in both men and women. The fact that there is little to no recovery time makes it appealing for busy schedules. Dualsculpting also allows for faster treatment.  Some results are seen in just 3-4 weeks.  But keep in mind that it will take 12-16 weeks to see the final results.

It is important to note that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss method, but rather a fat reduction technique.  After receiving CoolSculpting, it is very important that you maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Does it work as well as liposuction?
In-office CoolSculpting is a different procedure than surgical Liposuction. CoolSculpting has proven to be an effective non-surgical treatment for the reduction of fat, with over 5 million procedures performed worldwide. Two sessions are recommended for optimal results since an average of 24% reduction of fat is seen with each treatment.  Liposuction can boast an average of 50% reduction of fat when committed to surgery, possibility of scaring and the time necessary for recovery.
What happens at my CoolSculpting appointment?

It is important to note that all equipment is sanitized and cleaned after each treatment.  At the beginning of the CoolSculpting procedure, the targeted area is drawn between a cooling panel, which brings the fat to a precise temperature. Since fat cells are destroyed at a higher temperature than other cells, surrounding tissues remain safe and unharmed.

To freeze away the fat a CoolSculpting procedure typically lasts 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size as well as number of areas being treated.

During your treatment you may bring in a favorite book or magazine, listen to music, or watch a DVD. Some prefer to have the lights dimmed and actually sleep.  A firm massage will be performed on the treated area to further breakdown the chilled fat cells. This is necessary for an effective outcome.

We recommend that you bring a light sweatshirt and warm socks to wear during your treatment, as you may feel a slight chill during the CoolSculpting session.  Once completed most patients return to work or their daily activities immediately following treatment.
